Our story
“Built on specificity, not assumptions.”
Meridian Custom Homes was founded in 2008 on a single principle: that custom home building should mean exactly that. Custom. Not semi-custom. Not “pick from our floor plans.” We started as a small operation with a strong conviction that homeowners deserved more specificity — in scope, in communication, and in what they were actually getting for their money.
Since then we’ve completed over 140 projects in the Lincoln metro — new builds ranging from 1,800 to over 7,000 square feet, second-floor additions on homes that didn’t look like they had room for one, and whole-home renovations that required tearing down to the studs and starting fresh. Every one of those projects was managed by the same team that signed the contract with the client. We don’t sub out project management. We don’t pass you off to a site super you’ve never met.
Every Meridian project starts with a detailed scope document. Every budget includes a contingency line that explains what it covers and why. Every timeline is agreed in writing before a shovel hits the ground. That level of documentation isn’t bureaucracy — it’s how we make sure that what gets built matches what was agreed, down to the last specification.

How we think
We don’t rush to a start date. We don’t push into construction until the scope, plans, and selections are locked. A project that starts late because the plans were right is better than one that starts on time and finishes wrong.
We tell clients what we actually think — about their budget, their timeline, and what’s realistic for their site. If we can’t build something the way they want within their budget, we say so before taking a deposit, not after.
When something goes wrong — and on a long project, something always does — we own it. We communicate it quickly, tell clients what happened, and tell them what we’re doing about it. No deflection, no fine print.
